I do the same thing, I will not use a debit card or let paypal take money directly out of my account. As with both methods (Debit,or direct account transfer) once the money is gone its gone and regardless of what happens you have less of a chance of getting the money back if you have a problem.
I dont sell stuff so I cant comment on the sellers problems.
I find (at least on line) I will bid less for items which require MO's because of the hassle.
