Look at pics of any dragstrip in the USA from 69/70... They were FULL of brand new 69/70 cars that were totally cut up, painted on, modified in every way imaginable, and probably only had a few hundred miles on them at the time. I'm not saying the car is a guaranteed 7500 miler, but just because it has a few things missing/changed/damaged doesn't mean much to me...Seems like back then people weren't afraid to hack into their cars and change stuff right from the get go, and probably changed stuff like clamps and cables the first time the car needed a new hose or a battery.
