If you were watching the ebay auction for my 1969 Corvair Monza Convertible, you saw that the car sold. Well... come to find out, it didn't! After contacting the buyer to see how he wanted to arrange things, I was surprised to find out that
HE was surprised to know that he had purchased my car!! He couldn't believe it. After doing more investigation, we found that someone had apparently stolen his ebay identity and had purchased two other cars besides mine that same day! So we both contacted ebay and got it all straightened out, but what a pain in the a$$!!
So... the car is still for sale, but I'm done with the ebay thing. If you're interested, you can see all the high resolution pictures on
MY HOME PAGE.
And here's the jist:
I'm selling my
VERY rare 1969 Corvair Monza Convertible with the 110HP "High Performance" engine and a 4 speed manual transmission.
1969 was the last year for the Corvair and Chevrolet produced only 521 convertibles that year. As you can see from the pictures, this car is in very good condition and is mostly original, It even has the original California black plates! Options include front and rear bumper guards, door edge guards, Wheel Well trim, gas door guard, AM radio (MIA), 110HP "High Performance" engine, 4 speed manual transmission, Auxiliary Lighting Group, "Soft Rey" Tinted Glass (all around), Wheel Opening Moldings, and the Locking Gas Cap.
The current engine is a custom built 110HP assembled by a former owner and it has a lot of get up and go! The original "numbers matching" 110HP engine is currently in my garage and comes with the car, along with some other extra parts. A Corsa dash is one of the few non-stock items, and all the gauges work except for the clock.
EVERYTHING on the car works (except the clock) and that even includes the key warning buzzer! Another non-stock item I installed is an AM/FM/CD player, but I didn't destroy the dash installing it, so an original AM radio could be put back in if you wish. The paint is old and is starting to show its age, but it still shines and is perfectly acceptable for a daily driver. The bumpers are in good shape with good chrome, but they're not "show". The interior is in very nice original condition and the material is still surprisingly supple, even after 40 years of use, although the kick panels could stand to be repainted and the seat belts could use a good washing. Of course, the car isn't perfect. No 40 year old car is, especially one in mostly original condition as this car is. There are a few small scratches and dings, but all in all, this car has held up very well in its 40 year history. Note that the mileage is currently at 66,333, but since the dash has been replaced, it's unknown exactly what the original mileage is and it may be more.
Also included in the purchase are extra parts like the original engine, a spare Corsa dash, base style 14" wheels (4), extra Corsa gauges, Bumper Guards, Rally caps and trim rings, parts manual, assembly manual, service manual, etc... (Look at the pictures and you'll see all the extras that come with the car.) Note that the wheel covers on the car now are 14" wire wheel covers, but the wheels themselves are 1969 Camaro Rallys! By simply changing out the wire wheel covers for the derby caps, you'll have the ability to change the look of the car entirely! (For demonstration purposes, compare the pictures below showing the rally caps on the passengers side and the wire wheel covers on the drivers side! Of course, I don't drive around like this, but I did this just to show you what a huge change in the way the car looks just by swapping out the wheel covers!)
Note that I highly recommend you come drive and inspect the car. My home phone number is 951-677-1116, so give me a call so we can set up a time for you to take a test drive.
Both
MANHEIM GOLD and
NADA show this car to be worth around 12k, so that's what I'm listing it at, but I'm not married to that price so make me an offer!
email me with any questions or give me a call at 951-677-1116.
