That's *assuming* the car will be sold...if the owner never plans to sell, then the original engine is only *icing* on their COPO cake.

This is also *assuming* the owner bought the car in todays market, and has a tidy sum of expendible cash...what about the guy that was lucky enough to buy a COPO car years and years ago when all folks cared about was that it was a Camaro and no one knew any better? He may just have a few thousand dollars in the car over the years, and now someone is doing him a favor and offering the original engine at tens of thousands of dollars?
