Obviously it depends on how much money you already have invested in your COPO car if it's worth paying $x amount for the original motor, but it's also a factor if you just don't have the financial resources to purchase it. I don't think $28K is crazy for the original VIN 427 for a COPO car, but I can tell you I don't have $28K sitting around or even the resources of getting that money without selling something.
