Default Re: Pertronix Ignitions

[ QUOTE ]
Be careful of the rev limiter in the Crane units...I know a couple of folks that have had issues with it kicking in sporadically. As for the Pertronix, they're good when they work...but I've been stranded several times in a couple different cars and eventually took it out.

Sammy, you'll be glad to know, a certain Pure Stocker tested a Pertronix versus points system...the points made more power!

I used the orig dist for my 68 camaro 427 425 hp on the dyno
took a reading and printed the results. Then I put in a petronix in the dist.Took he enjine to 6000 rpm same as the orig dist and printed the results. I compared them and could not belive the torque diff and horsepower diff between the orig dist and the petronix. The petronix gave me 25 more hp
and a lot more torque.
I am away on vacation and and I dont have the stats with me or I would print them
