One thing I haven't been able to find yet is my FM converter that slid into the tape deck. It had a plug for the car antenna to attach and although it seems unlikely, I think it picked up power somehow from the tape deck. (Maybe there was a battery in it. ) Too many years have passed and I've raised too many mugs to all the folks here!

Dennis I have a couple of NOS ones. PM your shipping info and I will send you one for free. I actually have a 8track converter that is CB radio also.

Regarding how they work, they simply get power from the contacts that are used to switch tracks and the end of the song ( metalic strip on the tape shorts the contacts which activated a track switching solenoid). It also used the tape head pickup to transmit the modulated FM signal.
