My apologies, I wasn't clear enough when I said that you had to "jimmy the choke rod..."...what I meant to imply was that if you tweak the rod and the cage you could get them to work.

With a little patience and some trial-and-error, I'd bet you could bend up a stepped choke rod out of stainless welding rod (or something similar) that would function acceptably, even if it wasn't "factory correct."
