There was a "chance" you could have got one, but believe that not even all the 427 cars got them when sold new. I don't think there were a ton of them made originally. Another one of those promotional pieces Don had made and passed out/used sparingly here or there. But to answer the question, yes, I think it would have been possible to get one without buying a 427 car...some people were handed one without buying anything, and some people bought 427 cars and didn't get one. My dad swears in '69 he and a few college buddies drove down to Yenko from Pittsburgh to check out the cars and were given Yenko plate frames... he also said there wasn't much of anything "cool" on the lot at the time and no supercars to be seen anywhere. He's not sure of the exact time in 69 they were there though...I guess he didn't know he'd have a son that would question him on the details of the visit 35+ years later.
