I hate to be a nay-sayer, but about the 1st photo in this post: The "Benchmark" LS6. There has been some controversy over the years wrt whether it is a true survivor or not and I ain't gonna rehash that. But, I was saddened to learn over the weekend that the stripes were painted on the car recently involving original checked lacquer removed and fresh paint applied!!!!
Now we can put this one to bed - it definitely is not a Benchmark car anymore
! I am truly bummed as I have pined for this car for years and desired to own it one day. To me it was the ultimate street brawler with its non console, non stripe, non cowl induction hood. And now this. Oh gloom, despair and agony on me.....

Sam, I have seen this car on Ebay in the past and your right, I don't remember the stripes on the car. The reason the car stands out is becuase of the dealership it is from, Roger Dean Chevy. I remember seeing the dealer badge on the car and reading the same history on it...
