Re: my 67 Z racecar finally saw light of day today
Hey guys, thanks for all the nice comments.I hope I can find time...(and space) to redo the car...sooner than later!!!! Unfortunately, I really need to downsize my life early next year and this may be one of the cars that needs to go.Sure hope I can figure a way to hold on to her...and get her going again.........
Anyway, about the 69z w/the cobwebbing...upon speaking to my younger brother, he insists it had lace..actually paisley lace...he is very adamant and specific...I guess my alzheimer's is kicking in...I trust his memory better than mine..It was a fathom green Z that I purchased in about 94??...it had been sitting in a barn since 1975 near Trenton Nj...right in front of Mercer County Comm. College(for you local guys)...The owner was on a submarine in the navy and his dad actually sold me the car...I was working at the house next door and saw the car outside behind the rear fence in a foot of snow...the car had only been removed from the barn less than one month prior. After buying the car, we actually returned to the barn and went in the attic to get the original flat hood and the console with guages. The car had the paisley on the white stripes and also had thin white paisley on the sides of the cowl induction scoop. The car had green deluxe interior I believe also...The car was all original less the aftermarket shifter, scattershield, and 492 heads...the intake and carb were stolen from the car while it was in the barn. The car had tow tabs and free wheeling hubs too...must've had a trip or two down the strip in its life.I got that car for 3500 bucks. At the time totally done Z's were only max $20,000 absolutely mint, but it was still a great deal....If i could only find a few like that again!!! That was one that got away as I sold it in a package deal a year or two later along with 2 other 69 Z's and 4 other cars and a bunch of parts...I think the price of Z's skyrocketed the following day!!! I got a great deal on the car, but I suspect the guy i sold it to made more on it than me!!!
Hey Mark, i thought you might chime in on this one...Thanks for the info on the lid...

Thanks again for all the positive feedback.....Max
And thanks for the info on the trunklid date...I'll take a look today and see..although it does seem odd that it is different than the trunklid on the car in the other post here on this site...any reason why?? Mine seems to have more holes?? Thanks again to you experts!!!
