Default Re: Connecticut title search

I bought my 1969 Corvette in Connecticut back in May of 2006. This past June I decided to try and track down some of it's past owners and started by doing a title search in Connecticut since that's where I bought the car.
After waiting a few months I got a notice from Connecticut DMV stating that they had no record of ownership for my car.
I am a bit confused; I bought the car in West New Haven, CT. and the car had plates on it when I bought it so it definately was registered in CT at least once.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to my next step? Could I have filled out the Copy Records Request incorrectly? Their response gives me the impression that they go by the VIN and that is the correct number so I am stumped.

Any help / ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Dave,
I live in Connecticut. I have been in the Corvette hobby for over 30 years.
What is the VIN of your 1969?
What body style and paint color?
What is the drive line combo?
Regards,
Drew Papsun

Drew,

The VIN is 194379S731558
It's a black (900) with saddle interior T-top coupe. L46, 4-speed, no AC, PW, Tilt -telescopic, tranistorized ignition, 3.70 posi rear, side louver trim.
I found it on Ebay in May of 2006 and I am pretty sure it was in W. New Haven, CT.

If you have any info related to the car I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Dave
