Default Re: Survivor

My Father was a Seabee in the Pacific Theater and my Father-in-law was a Mate on the USS New Orleans at Pearl Harbor. I have always had an interest in WW II.
With December 7th approaching I'd like to share these photo's I received from a friend several years ago.
The accompanying text was as follows:

RECEIVED THESE PHOTOS FROM AN OLD SHIPMATE ON THE USS QUAPAW ATF-11O.
INTERESTING, AS I'VE NEVER SEEN THEM ANYWHERE ELSE.
THEY ARE QUITE SPECTACULAR. TAKE CARE

PEARL HARBOR December 7, 1941

NOTE:

The USS QUAPAW ATF 110 (Auxiliary Tug Fleet) was built in '42, and launched on 15 May 1943. How a Sailor on a tug took aerial shots is a whole other question. Where these shots really came from I don't know, but I had never seen them before and they really are spectacular.
