Re: What is this 70 GTO RA IV really worth
[ QUOTE ]
I agree with Don, a non-Judge RAIV car is a 75k car tops if it is "nice", 100k or so if it is a killer nut and bolt Tiemann-type all #'s match resto car in a good color. Remember the green/ saddle 4.33 gear M21 car that was for sale forever and finally sold in the 60's not long ago? #'s match motor but not trans as I recall.
Non-Judge is just a tough sell unless it is a really special car.
The eBay car looks like a good way to lose some money. To paraphrase the old joke "How do you make a small fortune restoring a POS GTO? Start with a large fortune!" That eBay car is a $100k resto waiting to happen, and it will never be a #'s or original sheetmetal car...and that is what people have finally gotten smart enough to want!

Concur as well. The RAIV GTOs don't bring the coin that the Judges do. However, if you do some shopping around, you can find a nice restored RAIV Judge for under $100k and a nice restored RAIV GTO for around $65k.
Just picked up a driver condition RAIV, M21, 4.33 1970 GTO. Car was built for speed with manual steering and brakes; thinking about Pure Stock Drags with this one... Anyway, there were only 325 RAIV 4 sp GTOs (not counting Judges) built in 1970, but there have been several for sale recently, including a few on e-bay and one on Classical Pontiac now.
