Seems like today, all guitarists care about is speed playing. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with "shredding" (as I guess it's called these days), but it does get boring rather quickly. Compare that style to, say, B.B. King, who can hold one note for 16 measures, and it'll bring a tear to your eye. THAT'S what music should be about, not flash and fretboard gymnastics.

Speaking of B.B., here is a rather well-known little number featuring "The King", and another rather talented guitarist, Gary Moore.
