Default Re: 1800 mile Hemi 71 Challenger for sale

Bizarre times back then, for sure. I think there were as many people rebelling against the psychadelic era and its wild colors, as there were fans of it. So it looks like your dad was the former. He ordered that beige GTX as a political statement against non-conformity.

My dad on the other hand ordered our 1972 Plymouth 9 passenger Suburban wagon in E-5 Rallye red with black interior and with a dealer installed black hood stripe. It even had the foam "Tuff Grip" steering wheel in it. I wish I knew where that car was now it had to be a one of one. It was a cursed car. It was hit approximately 15 times while we had it. It was the strangest thing. You could be sitting in the middle of an empty parking lot and someone would drive right into it. They would always say: "I never saw your car, where did you come from?" For some reason it was invisible to most people. Total lemon too. The power rear window washer unit was just thrown into the rear tailgate and never even installed on the assembly line...just a handful of parts tossed in and clanking around.
