[ QUOTE ]
A college girl was attending her sixth semester at the University. As it is commonly perceived, she thought to be on the left and favored redistribution of wealth, which she had not yet achieved.

She was ashamed that her father was on the right, as he usually opposed socialist programs, bills advanced to promote benefits to non-deserving peoples and higher taxes to those that made more money. Furthermore, her honorable professors have always told her that her father was wrong, that he was following an inhuman philosophy.

Because of all that, this girls one day decides to confront her father... She tells him about historical materialism, Marx's dialectic, etc. attempting to convince her father of his wrong views. The gentleman, in an unflappable manner, asked:
How are your studies going?

Very well - responded the girl - I have an average of 100 points. It is rather overwhelming, I have no social life and do not sleep enough, but that is what it takes...

And how about your friend Sylvia? - asked her father.

Really, really bad - says the girl - She has an average of 20. She is spending too much time shopping, or partying and studies very little. She also skips classes a lot!

Well - says her father - That is not surprising, is it? Tell you what: why don't you ask your professor to take 40 points from your average, passed them to Sylvia, so that both of you have now 60 points, a passing grade? That would be a good and democratic use of those points...

The girl, clearly irate, yells:

What?!! I worked like a slave to get that average, spending hours and hours awake on my books!!! Sylvia only took the easy way and enjoyed herself! I wouldn't consider giving away my effort to others!!!

Her father, embracing her and with a loving voice said: Welcome to the right, my dear....
