It was just a cool used car back then. Yes, some of us were chasing them even back then, and it was difficult to find an unmolested Hi-Horse Car after just Seven Model Years.

But wasn't the average American home only worth approx $50k back then?

In 1976 I bought my first 69 Z28, it had 30K mile and all orig for $2500. Yes it seemed like a lot of money back then.
