22 for the 14th year- sweet!! Thanks!
Just to clarify- the car is not a Lusso, it is a 250 LWB California Spyder, factory alloy bodied competition car. Very historic car known as the "Grossman" car after its original owner. Enzo, in his typical Italian manner, was late in getting his client's new competition car ready to go to LeMans in 1959. So Grossman went to the factory, took the car in bare aluminum with a partially finished interior, drove it to LeMans, and raced it to a 5th place finish. After the race, he brought it back to Ferrari and told them to finish it, at which point they painted and trimmed the car. Grossman went on to race the car for a number of years, mainly on the East coast where he was known to brutalize Corvettes. 7 Alloy Comp Cal Spyders were built, this one imho has the best history and (rare for any race car) has its original drivetrain and alloy skin. It was never "hurt" as they say.
It is on its way to my shop to be returned to 1959 LeMans trim, numbers and all, to be displayed at Pebble in '08 in the competition class.
BTW, those weren't my parents, and the pretty girl who hopes you think she looks 22 also isn't my sister!
