No need to go crawling into holes.

I believe that 615704 is indeed a rebody, apparently performed as a collision repair a loooong time ago. I believe the body used to replace it was originally a frost green car? I forget the entire story on it. The vin is for a fathom green, a/t, p/s, v/t Yenko Camaro from Hult Chev. If you've seen the video tape from it's maiden show, you'll remember this quote: "My name is so-n-so, '69 Yenko, fully restored it, and I'm here hoping to win"! Classic, should have said: "... '69 Yenko vin plate and trim tag....".

I am not aware that vin #615356 is owned by anyone, but have heard that the body was laying in a ditch - tagless If you've got more facts, share 'em!

I have no photos, signed affidavits, or hard evidence. So, I will just say this...I was searching for #615356 a couple years ago. I reached the same dead end on multiple fronts. To all accounts in my search, that car is in a ditch in South Eastern Iowa. The common story is that a gentleman out of the Cedar Rapids area came by in the mid/late 80's and offered money for the tags and any other salvageable items and asked that the owner "dispose" of the remainder of the car as it was beyond what anyone wanted to undertake at that time. The owner did not dispose of it, and it continued to sit in the same spot atleast until a couple years ago. So, either non-related people were all making up the same story to throw me off track-- or the tags (or car with tags?) is floating around out there somewhere. I would be interested if anyone knows of the whereabouts of this Yenko....or any info at all. Curious to see where the tags ended up. The discussion of a couple years ago was...if I were to purchase the carcass with the actual hidden VINs intact, what happens to the value of the rebody with "my" tags?

Guys, I really didn't mean to start a crap-storm or make people angry (I swear). Sometimes it just happens?

I promise that I am a decent guy...
