Default Re: Rear view mirror replace restore?

The maplight mirrors are easier to remove the glass from then the std. mirrors.
Once I remove the internal lamp assembly from the top & bottom,I created two wire spoons, one with a 90 degree & the other with a 45 degree compound angle that allows me to slip them behind the glass via those access holes and push it outward slightly while heating the back of the glass with a heat gun.
This way I don't chew up the metal or rubber edging.
It works really well and I have yet to crack one of these.
I found a local mirror store that replates the glass very inexpensively.
