Old story: I had a fellow call me and ask if I wanted a 4 bolt 283 engine. I knew there was no such thing but, what the heck.....I took it. When we carried it off his front porch (no kidding) the decal on the valve cover read "283
Four Barrel"
I think I still have it buried somewhere in the garage. Seems like it was a 1963 casting.
