Re: Senator Kerry is a saint

I think you might have been baking in the California sun a little too much. If you do not view the items I listed as being positive for the country and for the world I really don't know what to say to you. Those are major positive items that you are going to completely dismiss and that is just not right. You paint a pretty broad stroke yet do not get into specifics. It's an easy to complain about this and that but when you don't back it up with facts it loses all creditbillity.
As Rich pointed out you are completely ignoring Jimmy Carter, but as you stated, it is your opinion so you have the right to state what ever you please. Funny thing though, until we came to Iraq, Saddam would have sent a squad over to your home or business and had you and your family tortured raped and murdered for your comments implying he was the worst leader his country has had since the 70's. Today the people of Irag are free to say anything they want. I can not see how you overlook the positive aspect of that but hey that's your opinion right?
Let's take a look at the worldwide HIV/Aids problem. In three short years the number of people worldwide that receive life saving drugs has grown from 50K to over 800,000 through the Emergency Plan for Aids Releif that the US started and solely supports.
The Middle East has been a hot bed for a long long time. Always has been and always will. Does that mean we turn a blind eye to it and let it go on or do we try make a difference so the people over there can at least share some of the rights that people over here have and sometimes take for granted as well as keeping the terrorist at bay as much as possible.
I understand what is going on with the budget very well. Did President Bush just get in front of the American people and tell them he successfull in his pledge to reduce the budget deficit by 50% by the year 2009 and did it 3 full years ahead of schedule? Did he also state that he would be submitting a plan that would reduce it entirely in 5 years?
I was born in Washington DC and grew up in the suburbs ( I have sinced moved to a farm out in the country). I have many friends on both sides of the aisle. I am all to familar with what goes on inside the Beltway with both parties and it's called politics. It's been happening in Washington DC since the days of George Washington.
Again these are some of the examples of what you deem the worst President since Nixon has accomplished since he has been in office. Doesn't seem to bad to me at all.
