Okay...what's coming up is REALLY cool. Some brief history first
Carroll Shelby and my daughter Holly share something in common. They both received heart transplants in 1990...so both have had great working hearts for 16+ years...thanks to the awesome families that donated organs so that others could live. Carroll also had a Kidney transplant in 1996.
Carroll started the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation help indigent children with heart or kidney problems soon after.
About 4 years after Holly received her heart transplant...we received a package in the mail...it was a poster signed by Carroll to Holly. It seems that a friend of a friend knew Carroll...and when he found out about Holly he sent this right away! This was 1996...
