They use 3 D-cells now instead of two. Everything else is the exact same: color, decals, shift lever, even the feel of the lever as it adjusts. It took us a while to get the loop set up so the cars would go full circle, stay on the track and then re-enter the super charger. Remember how hard it was back then to not set the thing on "11" and launch them off the track? There are certain sounds that really bring back memories and the whine of those rubber wheels spiining is one of them...and of course the sounds of hotwheels crashing across the room into a pile of other hotwheels is another one. Maybe I'll even let the kids play with the track later after I go to bed.
