My brother just returned from Australia where he was shown a new process they use to avoid VIN switching. They have a liquid which is sprayed in the crevices and underbelly of the car. It is invisible unless under ultraviolet light.
Not sure exactly how it works but it marks the car with literally thousands of the cars VIN number. It is absolutely everywhere and impossible to remove it unless you tear the whole car apart at all factory seems before acid dipping or sand blasting.
