Hey Dan.Nice to hear from you.I thought I had lost you but maybe you didn't get my last Email.I'll bring the car to Niagara Falls if I still have it and if not I will probably have another one.I have a tentive sale/trade&cash for this weekend.I'd really like you to see the car though..I still havn't got the detail work finished as my Stage I GS is finished and I've been working on it.
Now.More details. The Chevelle has the original, std. bore 375hp block, casting #3955272 dated J 17 8, sadly the block was decked, no stamping pad. 272 block states 1969 Chevelle 4 speed 4 bolt main.Cylinder heads are 3864291 rectangles F 14 72 and C 16 72. Carb is a new 3310 Holley, points dist. is not original, an original winters factory intake (was unable to get date code as they are usually on the underside) The engine was rebuilt by A&J Automotive in Nova Scotia (they are known all over North America for Stock and Super Stock race engines) has 10.5cr forged pistons, balanced, factory GM 375hp solid lift camshaft. Stock exhaust manifolds with full new Flowmaster exhaust with X pipe and factory tips.Sounds amazing.
M-21 muncie is the original factory stamped 79B322606, bell housing is 3899621, currently has a Hurst super shifter, factory Muncie shifter is included with car. Rear housing LJ 11 27K dated K 13 8. A now retired GM of Canada executive said the car was 4:56 geared from the factory, however I am still trying to verify the code ZQ9 to confirm that, (a 4:56 ratio should read as G82)The rear has a 4:56 posi.
Approx 8 years and 10,000 miles ago the car recieved a very nice body off resto, at which time the frame was blasted, painted as well as suspension components, poly urethane bushing, body cushions, 1-1/4 front sway bar, KYB shocks. Body had quarters replaced, pans as required, stripped to bare metal sealed and painted factory black. All new weather stripping etc.
Due to the rarity of the 300 Deluxe interior, panels were not available at the time and new SS door and rear panels were used, headliner and carpet replaced. SS buckets recovered, would have been a folding bench originally with rubber mat.It now has carpet.
There are items of fit and trim that reguire attention for show quality. The trim rings on the wheels are wrong. They are for a 14 x 6 wheel not the 14 x 7s which are on the car.The rear speaker deck is warped and should be replaced.
Make no mistake this is a very nice solid clean, quality, extremely rare factory muscle car that will stand out any place it is driven. It is a strong running serious car, with all of the critical original factory parts still in place. The paint is real nice but if I keep the car I will wet sand and restripe it.I have been pulled over 3 times trailering down the road. One guy was out of breath and I thought he was going to have a heart attack looking at the car.He offered me his wife but I don't like red heads
Pics were taken before I installed the new Firestone Wide Ovals and I also just got a fully restored Holley 4346.The car is a real handfull with the Firestones and the 4 speed on the street.I have some more pics but I don't know how to post them all.I'll have better shots on the weekend.
