Re: Restoration Steps Advice?

You are on the right track however ,before you embark on this project do an estimate on the parts missing, the parts you will need to replace. Give to the shops only what you absolutely must.In order to keep the costs down.Labour for a good Body shop today is about $60.00 per hour and when they get your car in there It will be a shocker when you finnish the body. You can have the rear end rims, heater box inside and outside, and all the other parts that are rusty
and need lots of sweat to refinish like the drive shaft. Send them for chemical stripping when they come back
they will be like brand new, then prime then yourself
outside a nd then final paint them.
Most body shops will not tell you what the final cost will
be untill the body hass been blasted to see what is underneath so get ready to put a second morgage on hour house. If you want to do it right on a rotisery.
anyway thats a start I am in the final stages of a complete body off restoration of my 68 Camaro. If you need any advise I can always give you my 2 cents worth EH!
