Default Re: Sleeper, Documented "N" Code 429 Torino GT

Hi,
Sorry I didn't get any of these massages so I didn't know there were any questions. However, it seems the answer was correct. Thunderjet was the official Ford Name for the 360 horsepower, and 370 for the Cobrajet or CJ. The "N" code refers to the N in the vin number designating this car as an original 429 Thunderjet. Lot's of 429's out there that started life as a 302 or 351. As you know, the value in any car is correct and documented.
Als' Marti reports are good, but this car was inspected and verified by Mr Bill Shenk, he designed the 70 and 71 Torino for Ford. The Actual build sheets as well as copies are decoded in his handwritting. He also created a Club for owners of 70-71 Torinos and the car has to be verified by Mr Shenk as Correct and Authentic before it can be inducted. This is one of 17 cars that have been honored this way.
In Ford's the Letter designation in the VIN number is everything. That letter deems the car to be a real 429. This car has it's original engine tranny, rear end etc. . .
Thanks
Rich,. . .
