Default '69 ZL-1 engines questions

I've been reviewing some of the ZL-1 reference material I
have and a few questions came to mind. I'm sure members
here can clear this up for me.

1) With the exception of the chrome valve covers, what was
the color used on all sheet metal engine parts? Was it
gloss black, semi-gloss black, etc.?

2) What color were the engine lift brackets? Natural, or
black?

3) I know the BB Camaro's couldn't use the windage tray
due to oil pan clearance with the frame, but why
couldn't/didn't GM make a special oil pan that could use
the windage tray? They made so many other special parts
for these cars...... Also, why were the Z/28's able to
use a windage tray? Was the small block oil pan to frame
clearance a non-issue?

4) Did any ZL-1 engines come with aluminum water pumps?
Possibly in the 2 ( or 3 ) Corvettes.

5) Did any of the ZL-1's use the lifter valley oil splash
shield? This was a sheet metal part that fit in the lifter
valley ( just below the intake ) and kept oil from
splashing on the bottom of the intake. I have one here
somewhere? BTW, I'm not referring to the splash shield
riveted to the bottom of many of the aluminum intakes of
the day.

6) Were the oil pan and timing cover bolts natural color,
or were they painted black?

7) I believe that the ZL-1's used special ( extra length )
head bolts as well. Can someone confirm this?

That's it for now.

Steve
