i noticed that my doors require a fair amount of effort to open them. the house is 14 years old and i have never greased or lubricated anything. is there anything i should do as far as lubricating the tracks and/or wheels? how about adding more tension to the springs so the doors open more easily? thanx guys mike

I had a garage door guy here a few days ago to give me a price on a new opener. He pointed out to me that the rollers on my door weren't metal with ball bearings but simply plastic wheels. He suggested I replace the rollers with ones that have the ball bearings, change the cable pullies and replace the springs. All on top of replacing the opener Who knew garage doors were such high maintenance?
