I think those units are very cool, either for display in a very nice "garage" setting with nicely restored cars OR for actual use. I own one unit, a few years older than that one. It appears to be very functional but I'm missing the cables for the O-scope. I believe mine is 1968 vintage. I think it's called a SUN 900 Scope Motor Tester. I also have a vintage catalog that shows the unit. My intention is to get it working and USE it on my cars. Afterall, it was designed to tune the cars I own.
There was a feature in one of the magazines not long ago that presented many of the old SUN testers, indicating that the distributor testers were the best sellers.
These units were VERY expensive in their day. I'd prefer to see them actually used as they were intended, but I suppose some now fall into the catagory of "memoribilia" for display purposes.
They ARE neat.
