Default Re: 427 Baldwin Motion Nova For Sale

[ QUOTE ]
Your right it would be hard to say no to a higher price, but if you have someone you told you would take his deposit esp after either driving a few hundred miles or flying in and then the guy gets there and hes told the car just left, thats just not right.

Oh well if Enoch doesnt end up with it I would be its a fast resto job and then sold within the year

I think everyone is assuming way too much. The initial contact with this guy yielded the "higher than asking" offer which was accepted. The way I understand it is that everything else happened after that. Not sure why the guy agreed to have someone else come by or whatever, but the first contact at 6am closed the deal. Maybe he was not convinced initially that the offer was legit-- but I am positive that right now he is assured it is. Seems to me that whomever booked a flight (possibly from California?) may have been a little premature? Or....maybe it isn't over yet. As Charley said, this thing may not be over yet. I am sure we'll know more details (including authenticity) before work on Monday.

Also, Jeff, why would you assume that if someone other than the person you know is purchasing the car that it will be "flipped"? Are you saying that only people you know are honorable enough to buy a car for any reason other than to make huge profit on it? I guess I wonder what you consider to be a huge profit that is alright? Does $84,000 profit in one year constitute "flipping" to you? Because I can think of a recent instance that nothing negative was said about. Personally, I understand that things come up and things must be sold sometimes even when you don't want to. Not saying anything negative about the transaction I am alluding to, just pointing it out-- so don't get mad at me.

Look, I am not trying to start fights or stir the pot but things are getting a bit offensive in my opinion. All over a car that was completely fair game to anyone. I think it very unfair to make public assumptions on anything right now regarding the future home or fate of this car.
