It's funny you should mention Greyhound. What an unknown great safe way to get things, especially heavy things! I had a T-10 4-spd shipped to me from Nebraska in the belly of a bus. $38. and no mis-handling. No UPS apes playing games and making bets to see who can break the ones marked Fragle!
Only slight disadvantage is that you have to drive to the bus terminal to pick it up. Big deal.
It gets put in there with people's luggage and doesn't get stacked or dropped off conveyers. And it doesn't go through 2 airplanes, 4 trucks and some "hub" 1000mi away before you get it. Much less handling.
