Re: 68 chevelle Sedan
Hey Willy....cool car! . I've always loved the post cars more than hardtops, sadly the rest of the world is catching on? . Although not necessarily rare at the time, Post cars were the cheapo of most car lines and w/ basic standard equipment always the price leader. . With many models, they've a lighter roof structure since the post helped w/ support so no options, less total weight and lower price made it the choice of racers also the b-piller made it less vulnerable to body twisting. . Although rare, Chevelle SS post cars were even offered in '69 but I don't think '68....anyone? . There's a few members here w/ '69 post L78 cars too, Keith Tedford who also has a Copo Chevelle for one and I think Lightfoot has one too and his is an L89 to boot? . Not avail after '69 on Chevelles, GM went in and out of offering these on their other mid size models when you look at availibility of Cutlass, Skylark, Tempest etc through '72. . '73 models introduced the semi-hdtop 'colonade' styling or whatever it was called which was basicly a hdtop door and post body although a few variations of the old type of post cars were offered later like the '77 Caprice coupe. . I had a '68 300 6-cyl 3-tree back in the late 70's....paid $200 for it and used it as a winter bomb for one year only. . If you fix it, skip the fancy wheels and run w/ the steelies and dog dish caps! ~ Pete
