Default Re: Camaro reveal news

Darren I hear ya, and agree that the Challenger initially has a "cooler" look IMO than the new camaro, basically because its a more familiar shape, and mimicks the 70-71 Challenger almost piece per piece, in everything from the interior to the body panels. That makes for a cool looking car, BUT what happens in 3 years when everyone who thinks a "new" 70 Challenger is cool already has one? How do they bring out the "next generation" car? Mustang is going to have the same problem... once you take a design backwards, its hard to move forwards again from there. The PT Cruiser was hot as fire when it first came out too, as was the new beetle... but aside from changing wheel designs and some mild facia updates, its difficult to totally "redesign" a car that is almost 100% retro in appearance. With the Camaro, while it has some retro touches, its still essentially a "modern" car, and can therefore be changed, updated, and evolve into a 6th or 7th generation. I also think this is why the Corvette avoided going too retro... once you go backwards with design, its hard to go forward again. Lets just say I'm just very glad to know they didn't just let the Camaro die, and I think it's gonna grow on alot of people who are hating on it right now... myself included.
