Fred bought the car on Monday the 23rd and it was at Bristol by the end of the week with the Stott Chevrolet lettering removed and Fred's name on the quarter panel. This was the last race at Bristol that Dick was at. This was the All-American Nationals that was held on the last weekend of August and it was the very first IHRA race at Bristol. That is why the car shows the S/S on the windshield as IHRA called their "Pro Stock" class Super Stock for the 71 season and then in 72 it became Pro Stock. I have a video made from an old that shows Dick working on the car in the pits during that race so it is two weeks before he was killed...................RatPack.................. ...
