SS/EA would be "Super Stock, classification *E*, automatic"...conversely, B/S would be "Stock, classification *B*, manual trans". A/MP is "Modified Production, class A".

Originally, your "class" was determined by your power to weight factor, which was arrived at by taking the curb weight and dividing it by the advertised horsepower...ie, your car weighs 3,000 pounds, has 500 horsepower, so your factor is "6.00", which puts you in SS/A, which is for cars with factors 6.00-6.49...but, since both numbers (weight and horsepower) were submitted by that particular manufacturer, these numbers got fudged...so, NHRA stepped in and played with some of the factors.
