When I first got my car in the summer of '69 I was riding by my friends house,saw him outside and stopped to BS --got out to talk and left the engine running--rumbling and tappets clickin away--A old guy across the street wiping down his old Desoto --Comes across looks at the car and yells over the engine noise--"Is this one of those experimental cars"---- All those cars you just mentioned above were "loud and extreme etc" back in the day stripes or no stripes---including mine--- And sleepers were just sleepers when the engine was off -- ----------Wild and crazy kids---We were called other vernacular terms back then----------"Modernizing does put a strain on my Musclecar roots--but so does gasoline prices---------
