For what it's worth, from GM you could get fitted blocks (blocks and pistons), short blocks, or full engines. I don't know how these setups might be used in warranty work. GM didn't like to give out any more parts than necessary.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
