Default Re: realistic price for 70 Z-28

[ QUOTE ]
Phil has turned down offers of over 6 digits for his Hugger Orange 70 Z/28, So I can assure you a #1 70-1 Z/28
will do well over 40K. Two years ago a real Nice # match 70-71 Z/28 brought about $15- 20,000. I walked away
from a few I am now kicking myself about...

First off let me say that I think Phil's car is one of the finest 1970 Z/28's out there. And probably THE standard to use for referencing.

With that said just what more then the "COPO" 3 piece spoiler makes it anymore valuable then say the same car built the same day but with a shorty spoiler and restored to that same level?

If I read your statement correctly using your figures for the two number 1 cars, you're telling me that the 3 piece spoiler adds close to $60,000 to the value?? I am going to respectfully disagree.

Again, I am not picking on Phil's car I am merely using it as an example only because you brought it up.

My 06B Z/28 restoration project has the deck lid and quarters drilled for the 3 piece spoiler. Seeing that the 3 piece spoiler option was available after April of 1970 I could theoreticly consider my car a COPO as well. Could I not? Yeah I know, documentation, documentation, documentation.

Great topic.
