Default Re: Family loss for Chuck and LeRae Hanson

I hear ya Ken...there's nothing like having an extremely ill child...or one who passes away. It definitely makes you put everything in perspective...and the material things in life aren't important anymore. You learn to treasure every day...and all the little triumphs.

In case you didn't know, my daughter is an organ recipient (She received a new heart in 1990, at the age of 5 1/2 months...she's 15 years old now ).

I PM'ed Chuck and let him know that his son left a wonderful legacy...that he helped at least 7 people in the process. I signed my donor card when I was 17 years old because I thought it was the right thing to do...

Now's the time to discuss with your families whether or not you'd like to donate your organs when you die...I respect everyone's opinions and their decisions...it's just better to talk about it now...rather than when a tragic event happens...

I know of one other member of this site who's child had a heart transplant. We are both grateful to the donor families...
