"It's on display --- where!?" The 1973 Stingray used in the film (custom built by Dick Korkes at Korky's Custom Studios in Van Nuys, California) was on display at the National Corvette Museum (Bowling Green, Kentucky) in their "Hollywood 'Vettes" exhibit area, but now it is owned by Mid America Designs in Effingham, Illinois (thanks to Andrew Jackson for the tip!). You can see more images of the corvette
HERE .
Tony van 't Leven let me in on the fact that there was a 2nd car built for the movie that is on display at the Corvette Hall of Fame near Cooperstown, NY. Apparently, there is a theater that plays Corvette Summer continuously thru the day there as well! You can read more about it
HERE .
In addition to this, Bob Boyle indicated to me that there were possibly up to 7 corvettes made for the movie! Apparently, he had a friend in college (in Costa Mesa) that drove the corvette to school each day!
