Default Re: Motion Converted Vette/Ebay

Hello, I am the current owner of the 1968 Motion Corvette and yes, I was the winning bidder at the Barrett-Jackson auction in W. Palm Bch. The bid was 95,000 plus 8% auction fee, 102,600 total. I was also in Scottsdale in January and was unsuccessful in my bids on the gold '69 GT. I was guessing that car would have brought $250,000 or better. My bid was in at $110,000 when the bidding stalled, I thought it might be my lucky day but a few new bidders jumped in - so much for that. Regarding the color question, the car has been Fathom Blue since restoration. The most recent article in Corvette Enthusiast chose to make the car appear green, they are a sister publication to Musclecar Enthusiast, Musclecar published a similar story using photos from the same shoot - I guess they wanted a different look???. CONCERNING DOCUMENTATION and the lack of photos of stated documentation on my ebay auction. I would think members of this sight would especially appreciate and understand photos of documentation being withheld from an ebay auction. Think about it, if someone was out to forge a car, having easy access to such items would be ideal! Several years ago I listed my 1971 Baldwin/Motion Camaro on ebay, I refrained from displaying the documentation on that car as well. That Camaro was featured in a MuscleCar Review story titled "The Beast From Back East" (red/white stripe car). This car was formerly from the John Scanelli Collection of Norfolk, VA. and also used by Ertl for a 1/18th scale diecast model. By the way, if the current owner of this car is a member I'd love to talk to him. Back to the 'Vette - I will have this Corvette at the Mecum Auction this Saturday May 28th to be auctioned @ 11:00 a.m. - FAIR WARNING, YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I'VE GOT IN IT - I PLAN TO SELL! I DO NOT COLLECT - CAN'T AFFORD TOO!
