Default Re: Off to Carlisle...

[ QUOTE ]

A friend and I have been going to spring sand fall carlisle for 15 years. We have noticed the decline over the last 4-5 years. We have both made the decision not to go in the fall.

If the buyers don't go, the vendors won't either, its sort of a double edged sword. As long as people buy on ebay and don't attend swap meets for their parts, the vendors will continue to sell them online instead. I buy and sell stuff on ebay myself, but i still go to swap meets and enjoy myself...usually finding something neat to haul home with me. Another thing to remember is the parts we all bought 15 years ago simply are not as readily available anymore... vendors have always bought and resold parts from each other, thats been going on as long as there has been a swap meet there. I do agree there is an over-abundance of "junk", from taiwan die cast cars to wicker furniture, but i still manage to bring home a "prize" or 2 every year... you just have to dig a little harder than you did 15 years ago. i think the same could be said for any swap meet thats been happening for as long as Carlisle.
