I think the thing may be that overspending on individual parts by $50 here or $100 there doesn't add up to more than maybe a total overspend bill of $20,000 on what could be the "most correct", almost rarest car that will be worth $300-400K vs. the rest of us trying to buy NOS door weatherstrips on a budget and freaking out about the difference between $750 and $1000 on an $80,000 car.
