Wayne,
Thank you for offering to add to the registry. As far as the VIN on the transmission, you are looking in the right place already. I will say that more often then not, I do not find a VIN on automatics. I do not know why that is the case but those are my findings.

The fact that this cars history can be traced back to around 1974-1982 makes it likely that it is in fact the real deal. An (original) copy of the build sheet or other paperwork is really the only solid way to authenticate the car. Unfortunately, Flint cars rarely ever have sheets in them so don't expect one but look anyway.
