I just dug up the ebay auction. He quotes an old Camaro Club website from years ago. Also his car is an 04C late April-built car. This is too late for an actual Festival car. Just about all the festival/public relations cars were built in last week of February, (02D) and early March. They were all shipped to the Indianapolis Zone Office and prepped there for use at the track. Remember, Indy 500 preparation begins in late winter. Not 3 weeks before the actual race (04C)
In addition, about 120 known VINS and drivetrain descriptions exist from a Doctor who wrote them down in 1969 and about 95% of them are small block automatics. Remember these were parade cars used for beauty queens and dignitaries, no four speeds allowed, someone could have spilled their Mint Julip!
