Is there really that much logic behind the YS #s? For example, look a this list:
YS8023 412891
YS8024 377575
YS8025 240776
That is quite a span of VINS for three cars with consecutive YS #s. Are there any explanations for how the cars were numbered. Was it like suggested in an earlier post, the cars were converted based on customer demand for color, etc.? If this was the case, it must have been a 67/68 only practice? In 69 the cars were no longer "converted", right? They came as COPOs at that point. And I guess that is why were there cars "left over" that sold after the 69 model year?

I know, I am a little slow but catching on?
