They are as safe as can be. Had one on my Chevelle SS 454 for 10,000 miles during all types of driving...rain, snow, heat, cold, racing, and just plain beating the piss out of the car! Never a problem! Oh.....that was also while I was driving on Polyglass tires for the same 10,000.....also never a problem! Just all URBAN LEGENDS!
